Friday 26th

GET HIGH, GET TO BULLER

Get yourself to the Mount Buller Resort Village Square. Drink the juice of mountain goodness. Go get a feed at Kooroora. A drink if you’re game. Don’t get too rusty.

Prepare your kit – remember your drop bag (run kit that goes from Transition #1 at Buller post prologue run, down to Mirimbah ready for your Summit Run) CLEARLY LABELLED with name and mobile. Get some sleep.

NOTE: no bib pick up on Friday PM - just Saturday morning prior to event.

Saturday 27th

BIB PICK UP + BIKE RACKING
6.30am - 7.45am

See us at rego – Village Square in front of the stage area if weather is good. Get your bibs. Rack your bike (note: new location for transition). REMEMBER: Leave your drop bag with your bike. Once you have done the prologue run, put your run gear into your drop bag and then leave it in a designated area as you leave the bike transition, so that we can take it down to Mirimbah for you, ready for the bike to run changeover. Get pumped. You’re about to fly.

RACE START
PROLOGUE RUN
8am

Yeah, we need you to warm up some. And spread out somewhat before you saddle up for the ride. So we have a little loop run around the resort. Take it easy. This is not the time to sprint. Get used to the thinner mountain air.

MTB RIDE LEG

Run done? Then clip in (if that’s your thing), oil the cog, you are about to send it…

SECOND REMINDER: Once you have done the prologue run, you will put your run gear into your drop bag and then leave it in a designated area as you leave the bike transition, so that we can take it down to Mirimbah for you, ready for the bike to run changeover. This is important! Unless you like running in bike shoe cleats.  

Importantly for the bike leg – please ride to a few degrees or even a bunch under your abilities when on the steep and knarly stuff. There is a tricky rocky descent within the first kilometre – get off an walk it if you feel uncomfortable as it is a tad dicey. The rest is cruisey – although the wide-open trail of Delatite can you lure you into becoming a speed demon. Trust us, wash some speed off here and there, lest you lose control. Have fun. But feel the fear. It’s warning you: slow down.

TRANSITION CUT OFF
11.30am

Transition will be closed. Participants are responsible for their crew to collect your bike UNLESS you have prebooked the bike shuttle return service ($15). All bikes booked in for this will be transported back to Buller Village Square HQ TA zone. For those who have support crews or team entries – they can enter the TA and collect..

MOUNTAIN RUN LEG

Rider flies in, and for teamsters, the run partner is waiting in the transition zone (ONLY). Did you remember the beer for your buddy who just risked it all for the ride record? Go on, now, time to run - a little hill awaits between you and the finishline. (Rider - you rack your bike, and hop on the next shuttle bus up the hill).

Solo participants, rack your bike (it will get taken back up the hill on the bike shuttle), shod the sneakers, remember some hydration and pack the grit… you’re gonna need it for that approx 1100 metres of climbing ahead. Breath deep…run.

RACE FINISH - CUT OFF
2.30pm / 3pm presos or earlier if all home

EVENT VILLAGE BIKE RACK PACK DOWN
3.30pm

All bikes should be collected from village square transition by this time. Bikes will only be monitored whilst in the transition areas and only until 3.30pm.
